Executive Team

Dan Laser, Myka Labs CEO. A highly accomplished life sciences leader, Dan comes to Myka Labs from Applaud, where, as founding CEO, he led the company’s successful development of the first lipid nanoparticle-based products incorporating alendronate chemistry for treating biomineralization-associated conditions in the urinary tract and vasculature. He also served as CEO at specialty bioassay research firm Wave 80, where he led the organization in developing innovative new assays for use in clinical research and patient care in high-unmet-need diseases including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and type 1 diabetes. Earlier in his career, Dan worked on input device haptic feedback systems and on computer vision algorithm development for surgical robots. He holds Ph.D. and masters degrees from Stanford University in mechanical engineering and undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering and political science from Northwestern.
Dr. Craig Munroe, Myka Labs President. Craig has been driving improvement in patient care for nearly 15 years, with a career spanning senior leadership roles in the private sector, service in the uppermost echelons of academic medicine, and being a front-line provider of patient care in a high-volume urban medical center environment. After completing fellowships at Stanford and UC San Diego, Craig joined the gastroenterology division at Kaiser San Francisco, rising to the role of Division Chief in a span of five years. Craig’s later experience includes having served as Associate Chief for Clinical Innovation in the Division of Gastroenterology at UC San Francisco, and having been Medical Director at Castle Biosciences. He is the author of over 30 peer reviewed publications. Craig completed his internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, received his MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine and played Division I college baseball while completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Mike Harrison, MD, Myka Labs Chief Scientific Officer. Over the course of a long and distinguished career at the University of California at San Francisco, Mike was the driving force behind innumerable advances in pediatric and fetal surgery. Based on a unique understanding of gastrointestinal tract physiology gained through his experience performing innumerable surgical repairs of conditions like congenital esophageal atresia, Mike developed a compelling vision for innovative new endoluminal approaches to GI tract interventions–a vision that is at the heart of the Myka Labs product pipeline. Mike was the founder of the International Fetal Medicine Surgery Society (IFMSS) and has authored more than four hundred peer-reviewed articles and several textbooks.
Lee Swanstrom, MD, Myka Labs Chief Medical Officer. A pre-eminent innovator in endoscopy and minimally invasive surgical systems and methods, Lee is past president of both the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the Foundation for Surgical Innovation and Education. He has authored of over 350 peer-reviewed articles and multiple textbooks including a leading text on endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery. In addition to his role at Myka Labs, Lee is Chief Innovation Officer at the Institute of Image-Guided Surgery in Strasbourg, France.
